Can anyone with the experience, tell me the best way to remove block. Book say it goes up and out on the right side. a mechanic said it can turn and slide down through the frame. By measuring, it looks like a close fit either way.

Unless the fan shaft is removed, I don't think it comes close to coming up and out the right side. I have turned it around and lowered it out the bottom and yes it is a very close fit.

I have done several and they come out just like the book says if you follow instructions. Differant A's have differant instructions. You have a rare tractor if it is a 1953.

We left the fan in ours, so we pulled the block ahead, flipped it on its side and when the moon, stars, and planets alignn it will go out through the bottom.

Thanks for the replys. I can now say, the block will drop down out of the frame, close fit but it is not difficult. NO removal of steering shaft needed.

well it did come out "down" thru the frame. but we have since split the tractor for a couple reasons and that will make it easier to reinstall the block.
