1955 Ford 960 Grille

Hello All,

First time posting here, and I'm in need of some help. I am starting a restoration on a 1955 Ford 960. This tractor has been repainted over the years to immitate a 901 powermaster. I want to undo that look and return to factory original paint scheme and body lines. The egg crate grille obviously has to go but my issue is that when I search for 1955 front grilles, I get a results that show the grille with hand crank hole in the lower middle section of the grill. From photos I have found online, the original grill looks shorter and includes mounting places in the four corners of the grill. The replacement grille with the hand crank hole just looks wrong (see attached photos). Curious if anyone has run into this issue when restoring a late model. Thanks in advance for the help!

I have one from a '55 960 that is pretty nice, and even painted the correct gray instead of the 1964 gray that everyone seems to use now.

That looks like the grill for an NAA. That was the last model to have the hand crank option. The row crop models definitely didn't have that. Look at your two pictures. If that grill in the second picture was installed on the tractor in the first picture, the lower section with the hand crank hole wouldn't even fit inside the space where the grill is in the tractor photo. That lower section would sit down below, out in front of the bolster.
