I bought a 1960 Chevrolet pick-up with a straight 6 in it that is missing some parts. How do I find out what size the engine is so I can try to find these remaining parts a new home?
Thanks

It came from the factory with a 235, but 1960 was a long time ago, but if the starter is held on by two bolts, and you can't see the bellhousing bolts, it should still be the 235.

Starter is held on by two bolts and the bell housing bolts go through the inside of the bell housing into the block. Thanks for the info.

there was also a 262 six that was built up from [and looks same] 235,,depending on what parts you are needing to replace.

I dont beleive the 261 was used in pickups.Of course any thing can have happened in50 years. The 261 had a pcv setup with a pipe that ran over the valve cover that the 235 didn't.
