Hello all and thanks for all the info on the hydraulic problem. Using the AGCO parts books, I was able to determine which linkage pieces were missing and have them on order.
Last weekend, I decided to go ahead and get the engine serviced, oil, oil, fuel and air filters. Oil and air went without a hitch. The problem was when I went to change the fuel filters, ( Perkins AD4.203 diesel), I realized that someone previously had cut the lines to the fuel lift pump and primary filter, added a piece of rubber fuel line coming from the fuel tank to the secondary filter then straight to the injector pump. Making it a gravity feed system. Now I know that Massey Ferguson put that lift pump on there for a reason, and I know the primary acts as the main separator filter from the fuel tank for water and other such stuff.
Has anyone ever experienced this type of hack job? The engine runs fine without a load, and I was able to drive it up onto my trailer with no problems. Other than the lack of separation from the primary filter, what can I expect. Has anyone ever replaced those lines with brake lines (I did that on my '51 8N)? If so, what size did you use. I do plan on getting everything back to the way it was, unless I hear different.
Thanks again,
Roger
