Thought I would make post to ID myself and let you all know what I'm up to so my dumb questions might make some sense. I've been around this forum for awhile and come on when I need to get some good information. This forum and it's knowledgeable folks have helped me out a lot over the past 12-odd years.
I'm back at it again, looking for answers as I get into a little bigger job of restoration on my 5000.
When I bought it, around 2006, it had fresh paint and new tires and I knew absolutely nothing about it or tractors in general.
Over the years it has performed pretty well for what I do and I had no real need to dig into it. I've done a few things and found several old coats of paint (orange, grey, etc.) and a few other mechanical and electrical things that made me scratch my head and wonder about the history of this tractor.
All the numbers seem to make sense but the paint colors throw me:
Tractor Number: C269578
Model: E1024C
Unit: 0E04C
Engine: 0B12B
Transmission: 0C16B
Rear Axle: 0C818
Hydraulic Pump:0?19B
Don't have the Hydraulic Lift number -- yet.
Anyway, just thought I'd post this cause you'll see me pestering you over the next few months or so. Thanks for your understanding.
