Tractor hydraulic fluid in the steering
Normal coolant level is just covering the cores
I really like these tractors but if it has the 8x8 transmission with forward/reverse on a separate shifter I’d walk away
Good transmission when it’s working, zero parts availability when a synchronizer fails
If it has the standard 8x2 transmission buy it

Don’t trust the hour meter on a Ford tractor, look at the tires
700 hrs the rear tires should be original with 75% thread or better unless it’s been drive on paved roads a lot, Armstrong/Titan was the tire supplier around that time with long bar/short bar thread design. Even the front tires should be original with good ribs still, Armstrong or Firestone fronts

Went and drove the tractor put one gallon in and it came to the top .. brakes felt like they weren’t releasing felt a drag ..hole was rub in top of radiator from the air inlet pipe ..hr meter did not work. ..ran good though gears work hydro work power steering work ..I would rate it a 7 out out 10 .condition wise. ….intros the guy I would think on it. Oh yea when I release the clutch when out of gear i heard a wining noise ..sound like a bearing idk

Looks like a radiator repair first off, good catch!
If the brake pedal return spring under the right floor board are disconnected or missing the brakes will drag, the weight of the pedal is enough to cause brake drag
I had the hour meter on a new dash fail at 92 hrs
Not enough free travel on the clutch pedal can keep the throw out bearing spinning, I’ve only had one bearing failure in the 8x2 transmission and that was from excess water in the transmission fluid

In good running condition it’s a $6500 tractor all day long, however it does have some issues.
Get the radiator off and back on is a pain and you could be looking at a $300/400 radiator aftermarket!
Brake drag can be a simple spring but if they ran like that for a long time in could have actual worn brakes which can get pricy
Check clutch pedal free travel and transmission fluid level, see if the fluid is clean or milky, over full any milky is water intrusion
I don’t expect them to take $2500 but I’d take it at $3000 most anytime, it’ll part out for more than that

I’ll let you know what happens .. thanks for the info. A lot. May need you for some more to fix these things if I get it. ..lol Where you located ..I’m in south Boston va
