2 pt fast hitch implents

can anyone tell me if there is a way to pull older 2 pt fast hitch implements behind a tractor with a 3 pt hitch?

Can be done is your inventive and you have the right tools. But other then that nope. You would need to turn them into true 3 point stuff or make something that would hook to the 3 point that in turn they would hook into

Sell them to someone with a Farmall, buy 3pt hitch equipment to replace! Two pt hitch items are not all that common, and should have a value for that reason. If you insist on butchering them, cut the prongs off, fabricate a 3pt hitch and have at it. You might figure out how to attach ready made 3pt fast hitch brackets, as an easier option.

A horseshoe shaped/upside down U adapter can work both ways. 2pt to 3pt has 3inch rectangle tube inserts at bottom for the implement prongs. 3pt to 2pt adapter is same shape but has prongs on bottom and top link for implement on arch. Adapter can be dismounted and used on different tractors and implements. On 3pt tractor the use of old 2 pt implements is for quick mounting and usually the implement was already available for other IHC tractor before Ford or JD was purchased. IHC/Case/NH Implement dealer had adapters available 2 day delivery either way for about $150.00 RN

Please don"t butcher them. Sell them to somebody with a 2pt! 2pt implements aren"t made anymore and are getting hard to find. When they"re all butchered or sent to China, they"re gone forever.

Agreed! Old goof-ball down the road from me has a bunch of that stuff, butchers it all up to make 3pt implements. Makes me sick.

By the way - anyone want to lament the passing of the Farmall fast-hitch system? Man, I hate 3-point. Harder to hitch than fast-hitch. To me, it's like VHS vs. Beta videos - Beta was better, but VHS won out!

jry: It doesn't much matter what you do. If fast hitch implements are as valuable as most folks on this thread believe, then why is this not reflected in the market place. In my opinion, people continually over pay for fast hitch tractors, then expect to buy implements for next to nothing.

When that fails they buy a fast hitch to 3 point adaptor, go out and pay twice as much for each 3 point implement, as they would have for fast hitch implement.

It is quite easy to fabricate and adaptor to go from fast hitch tractor to 3 point implements. Not quite so easy to build an adaptor to go from 3 point tractor to fast hitch implement. The fast hitch sockets will interfere with tractor 3 point hitch operation, one exception. It is very easy to build an adaptor for 1 point fast hitch implements.

It would have also helped if you had listed the implements by model number. A lot of those implements when new were available as 2 point fast hitch or 3 point hitch. The implement was ordered or changed to the appropriate hitch kit. If you had parts books you could probably fabricate 3 point hitch kit for each implement, then just set the fast hitch kit aside. Problem with that idea, each fabricated kit will cost you more than buying a 3 point implement. So it's a no win situation. Personally I'd buy 3 point implements, advertise the fast hitch implements at around $1,000. each, then if not sold, ship them to china within 3 months. Time some of these folks thinking fast hitch is the Cadillac of hitches to put their money where their mouth is.

Several years ago I went to a tractor salvage yard and bought the wish bone and the two point sleeves. I turned the wish bone around so it arched back over the sleeves then weilded it there. I drilled out the holes on the end so the third link could be fasnined to it and put Cat 2 pins on the sides of the sleeves It did work as good as the straight 2 point but it did work. The main thing I used on it was my 2 point blade, so I could use it on my loader tractor. Now I have a loader tractor with 2 point.

I had a farmall 706 with fast hitch. The only fast hitch implement I had was a 4 bottom plow. Worked great. The tractor had a top link braket for the 3 pt. And I purchased the cat 1&2 adapter arms to got to 3pt. That seems btter to me then butchering stuff.
