2 speed rear end questions

hi i have a 1976 ford 7000 series dump truck .. Just got the 2 sppeed electric motor rbuilt . Upon install i lifted the rear wheels and pushed the clutch fork to either side... it feels as if it engages.. but the driveshaft/wheels never lock together. Upon assembly... the engine turn the driveshaft.. but wont lock with the rear wheels ,,, and help would be greatly appreciated... thanks .... Bing

Do you possibly have a broken axle shaft? To backtrack, why did you originally rebuild the gearbox? A 2 speed will slip into a free wheel state but should be able to be wedged into either direct or reduction. Loy
