2010 rebuild

I have a chance to buy a 2010 and was wondering if it is difficult to find parts and are they readily available. Are the parts high priced low or average for the size of the tractor? This will be my first green tractor restoration, I have an AC and a Case and am looking for another project. Thanks for any info.

depending on what 2010 it is, I would steer clear of them. They are a pain to work on, parts can be expensive, especially engine parts, and wer just kind of an odd ball tractor. It better be cheap and not need much to make it worth while.

The 2010 is not a good sample of green equipment. It is considered by many to be Deere's biggest screwup. I would leave it where it sits unless it operates perfectly in its current state and the prices is really good.

I have never owned a 2010C but have heard and read enough to make sure I never buy one. Either go back to the 440C or forward to at least 350 if you want a bigger one. The 440C's can be hauled much easier and will surprise you how much work they can do with a good operator.

They say the reason they are such a hunk of junk is because the waterloo engineers got all the money for the 3010 4010 production so the dubuque engineers sort of had to slop together their new gen tractors.

Funny- I have a buddy that his dad bought one new or real close to new, rock wagon auger tractor pretty much all its ever done. Thing start everytime, runs great and has just been a general overall good tractor for them. Told him to keep it because its ONE OF NONE!!! It HAS to be the rarest 2010 ever built!!!.

Thanks for the replys, the tractor is gas, I"ve heard of iussues with the diesels. What part regularly fails on them?

Everything.

You will spend less $$$ over the next 10 years purchasing one of these instead. And have something with retained value too. Bonous, the tractor will be ready and available to reliably work instead of being in the shop.
Any of these will drag a 2010 around like a toy on loose, wet or snow/ice surfaces.

THe tractor has been sitting outside for quite a few years and needs to be gone through. I was going to drag it home and tear into once my new shop is complete. The engine is going to be stuck and will need quite a bit of other help, if it's not saveable I was going to part it out. Were the gas engines bad in this series, the transmission, hydraulics? What is it that gives people problems?

4WD in mud or snow vs the 2WD? I'll bet on the 4005 and even more on the 5075E

Comparing a 5075E Utility Tractor (75 hp) MFWD or any MFWD of equal HP to a 45HP 2WD 2010 is similar to comparing APPLES to ORANGES.

BTW when do you take delivery of your NEW MFWD???????????
