2290. MFD

I would think this is kinda rare. See there's one for sale on the tractorhouse web site. Wish it wasn't in Ontario.

I don't know the numbers but not too many were built. There were actually 2 versions of front wheel assist used on the 2090/2290. The earliest was a hydrostatic front drive that was a dealer installed option. I've heard they weren't reliable or successful and dropped quickly. The first picture is a brochure for the hydro.

The mechanical front wheel assist came after and was more successful, probably leading to the development of the 3294/3394/3594 eventually. The second brochure pictured is for the MFD model.

Well,
As a Case Dealer back in that time, I had some real issues, with Case Co, that they were not addressing the Front Wheel Assist Market. Oliver and MM were dominating the market here in the NE. JD had developed a HFA with limited sucess, and after a lot of time on the phone with Case R+D, and, Bill Simpson interveined and I/he had a 1070 ROPS PS sent to "Mud Hog" And they designed a HWA system, utilizing a front mtd pump and variable displacement pump, controled by switches installed in the test ports of the RPS34 valve.
The 90 series tractors had enough Hydraulic capacity to power the HFA inturnally, and, Fortunately Case got their head out of their arzz and developed the MFD., to be competive in this market again.
Bro has a pic of the 1070 that I had sent to Dynier Hyd systems/ Mud Hog, to design the system.

Here is our 2090. I've only seen maybe 3 or 4 like it. There is a youtube video of a very good looking 2090 MFWA pulling a Brillion cultivator.
