Does anyone know if the lift shaft splines need to be timed correctly to the inner lift arm (the one connected to the piston dog bone)or does it have a master spline? I know the outer lift arms have a master spline but am not sure about the inner arm. I have adjusted my top cover by the IT manual and Big Dean"s instructions but something is not quite right. The position control works well but is very sensitive. Just the slightest movement of the position lever raises the arms three or more inches. Total movement of full up to full down occurs in less than 1/2 of the quadrant. Linkages inside appear to be OK with nothing bent or missing. There is no groove worn on the ramp of the cam of the inner lift arm. I am thinking maybe the cam is out of time on the lift shaft as I can tell someone has been inside this before and maybe got something out of whack. Any suggestions before I remove the lift cover again?
