2594 white/red

Does anyone know the serial number break when Case/IH started painting their 94 series tractors red. I assume the year would be 1985. Also has anybody ever painted a red 94 series tractor back to the original white color. I think the series painted white looks so much better. Red looks too much IH.

It is a pleasure to hear you say that. A few years ago I was shopping for a 2294 and told all the IH dealers it had to be white or be repainted. You should have heard the howls of indignation. Last night I ate at the Machine Shed restaurant in Waukesha, WI and noticed IH is finally starting to merchandise a little (20 years too little and too late) and what do I see? Farmall, McCormick, and IH crap and not a single reference to Case anywhere. Not even a token little model hidden in the corner somewhere, like at the IH dealers. Absolutely pathetic.

That is pathetic that everything they sell is all IH crap. Look at the name on the tractor. Its Case with an initial beside it. Not true to there roots at all...

Yeah, I was just talking with Tom Stanley whose dad was a Case dealer back in the 60's. He and I are both sick of the whining from the IH nuts who still think IH bought out Case when it was the other way around.

Hey Tom,

It doesn't make any difference who bought who anymore. IH definitely took over the corporate management and almost all the dealers will be IH heritage or owned by IH conglomerates eventually. Maybe they should just sell the Case name and trademark to somebody who really wants to use it like they did McCormick ten years ago. Don

That would be cool for someone to go back building CASE tractors. I bet there is still a market for 100-200 hp. tractors without all the sensors and electronics. The best tractor decision we ever made was quitting IH tractors and going to CASE. And we still own a 5488.

Geez, it"s a tough crowd here today We have always had case & ih so I have orange & red blood. I like the white/orange & red/black/silver better than the white/black/orange though. I"m not color blind, so any good 90/94/96 series would be okay. But the two tone 30 series are some of the best looking cases ever.

I don't begrudge your liking IH tractors at all. M's and W9's and 1086's are great machines. I just don't like my great tractors being cut loose and forgotten by bankrupt managers of a bankrupt company. Don

You guys may be in luck..........Fiat just announced this week that they are spinning off the Case New Holland division to concentrate on the automobile side of the business. Maybe if we all chipped in our pennies, we could take things back to the old J.I.Case company!!
