I have a 2640 that has me flustered. I can leave it for weeks and when I go to start it, it starts fine. After I start it up and drive it over to put on an implement....it will not start back up. In fact, it barely turns over, and that is even if it has been run for an hour or more. I can be mowing for a couple of hours, come back in for a drink and the darn thing will not start. If I leave it sit for an hour or so it will turn over weakly and likely start. I can put the charger on it and get it to start.
Alternator is putting 13.5v into the battery. Battery has been replaced, My partner seems to think it is low compression but that makes zero sense to me since it would turn over fine but not fire off if it was just a compression issue.
I plan to pull the starter off and take it in to see if that is the issue. Any other ideas/suggestions?
