Ok got the tractor running, and it has no brakes at all on it..Figured it was oil on the brake linings, so I just got through tearing it down. It already has sure seals on it, (guess the prev. owner replaced them.) but the shoes were coated with old grease and dirt. I thought the sure seal was suppose to stop the oil leak on these old tractors. What else beside the sure seal would let grease in to the brake area... Whats the odds of a guy putting them seals in, and not cleaning the rest of it up, and changing the shoes...I guess wirder things have happened before...

You should be able to look and see if it is new oil leaking by the Sure Seal. Also have you checked the oil level. Remove the bottom bolt on the dipstick inspection plate and let oil run out till it won't run out any more, then put the bolt back in. By doing this there is enough oil left inside but helps to keep oil away from your Sure Seal and even having the opportunity to leak. He could have half cleaned them and then more leached out of them unless you determine that new oil was coming past the SS.

guess I didnt get the pic in there after all...will keep trying..
