2N piston rings source

Duner, thanks for looking up the piston rings. The compression rings are right but the oil control rings on the tractor are 3/16 while the rings on eBay are 5/32. I know there’s gonna be some rings out there somewhere just have to track them down.
Call YT parts at the number above, I bet they can get what you need.

That might be an option. I looked down below and they had a box that was standard by the same part number. They said that the rings were for an Oldsmobile! So it makes me a little leery. Another option would be just replacing the pistons with new ones. I found .030 over size 4 ring pistons but they don’t seem to have rings for them. Maybe I will give them a call on Monday. I guess another option if worse comes to worse is you just put it back together and live with the smoke. I was going to restore this tractor. I found a parts tractor that is in better shape than this tractor. So I’ll probably just use this one for brush hogging and yard work. And restore the parts tractor I found. The tin is good on the new tractor and it has a Sherman transmission. Thanks for all the effort you’re putting into trying to find parts for me. I really appreciate it.

I measured the ring end gap and they are way out of whack. .080. Makes me think they might’ve put standard rings in the tractor.
Screenshot_20260207-144625.pngAre these incorrect? .030 over 3 3/16. Oil ring width is 3/16.

I pulled the Pistons out of my 2N. I found out they were FoMoCo pistons. I called up new Holland and the rings are no longer available. Does anybody know if anyone has old stock Ford parts? The Pistons are .030 over. The Ford part number for the rings is 86551105. Haven’t had much luck searching the Internet.
I was thinking checking that the piston grooves are worn out on those pistons .
Dennis I checked the ring clearance and the grooves were good. The top ring was worn some but the new rings should cure that problem.

May have already done this . Check Hastings for rings . At the time they worked really well with me ,engine builder, and wiseco, to fit a set of Chevy rings in the custom pistons for my Fordson F . When nothing was available for a .08 overbore . They did it, Just thought.
I had a very knowledgeable lady at Hastings that told me a told the rings for 1950 McCullough Chain saw were available for it in andc over bore sizes.
Always better in case like yours to talk to technical support.
I say call them cause I can’t find much about that in the on line catalog.

I guess it’s a little too late to call them now. I already have rings coming. Supposed to be here on Thursday.
