Has anyone purchased the step plates from Yesterday's Tractor? I'm confused as to how the front of the plate is fastened to the rod. I have the bracket for the rear section and the front has a rolled over lip but what holds the front in place? Thanks for your hrlp.

I put them on my 9N the front just hangs on the front foot peg.
I put a small Piece of self adhesive cork on the inside of each lip over the peg to reduce rattle noise.
they are a little flimsey but do hold up to me standing on them.

The rolled lip, just fits over the foot peg, at the radious rod connection.!!
After you install the foot rest, take a pair of adustable water-pump plyers, and tighten up the roll to conform withthe foot peg bar. OR. you can drill the roll-over for two bolts to squeeze that tight against the foot peg., so it does not move around.
I just rolled mine tight....never have a problem with them.

They bend if heavy dude steps up on em.. My left one is sway-backed from the time I took it to my local mechanic..He"d dress out about 300 lbs. Actually he prob. weighs 250 lbs.....I need to take it off and straighten it--If I were u I"d have reinforcement welded the full length on the bottom before installation. They are kinda weak..

you must have some liter duty step plates to bend like you said. the ones on my2N have the hooks over the pegs and have never bent in the 30 years i"ve been stepping on and off them. by the way; i weigh 285#.

Yes, some are heavier than others. Ones U buy now won"t stand the weight--My Dad has some on his that were on it when he bought it 45+ yrs ago and they are the heavier stuff and will not bend..

As stated they just hook on the foot pegs. When you tighten the back bolts by the hydraulic cover it tightens them down a little but still can rattle and make noise. The ones pictured look like ferguson steps off a TO model, which also will bolt right up. IMO can't beat the old stuff vs new. It was made to last. You could always put on the later style 8n or hundred series steps. My '41 had the steps off a hundred series model. I also have footboards for sale if interest.
