3/4 IH updraft carb

Does anyone know if the 3/4" IH updraft carburator on the Cub is the same as the one on a 300 Utillity tractor? I found a Cub website that has a rebuild kit but I want to be sure its the same carb.

Randy - The Cub carb is not even close! The 300U carb is a 1-1/4" (vs 3/4" for the Cub...)

You need a kit for a 300/350/Super H/Super W4, etc. Tractor Supply has 'em - so also do several online sites.

No. Not even close. The 300 utility uses a carburetor very similar to the Super H, and the farmall M. A Farmall H carburetor would be closer, but still no dice. You should be able to find the kit you need right here on YT.

Looks like IH had quite a few different carbs. How can I tell for sure which one I have? Is there a number on the carb somewhere?

Randy - Look for a a small (5/8" diameter or so) circular brass tag with the part number stamped into it. It will be riveted to the throttle body casting. The tag is likely covered with many years accumulation of varnish and dirt - you'll probably need to scrub/wire brush the throttle body to find it.

Incidentally the carb number MAY be 356 065 R92, though I am 100% certain. However a kit for the above will work for the carb on your 300U.
