3 Point Not lifting anymore

I was using my brush hog, and when I went to park for the night, the 3 point will no longer lift at all. I disconnected the brush hog too see if it was wedged in any way and still nothing. Does anyone have any hints as to what it might be, I am new to the tractor world, and am kind of at a loss, and need help.....more ground to work. This is a 8n tractor.

Did you have the pto connected when you tried to lift the hog? The lift doen't run without the pto being engaged on the N series Fords and others of the era. The pto shaft drives the hydraulic pump.

That could be my problem, so I have to have the PTO engaged at ALL times even when there is no shaft connected??? I will try that tomorrow.....

That's correct. These old machines did not have "live hydraulics".
