3 point snow blowers

Does anyone have any opinions about 3 point snow blower brands? I'm looking for an appropriate model for a 3020 JD diesel. I've looked around online and only come across a handfull of brands. Does anyone own a Lorenz? Any comments about their units... good or bad? Any other recommended brands... or brands to avoid?

Finally, is it easy to blow snow along a curve?Thanks.

Make sure the blower is wider. than the tractor. Curves are not really an issue as long as they are not too sharp or your blower is the same or narrower width than your tractor. I have a John Deere, not the best in my humble opinion. I have been looking a a brand that I believe is Red Devil, seems to be good. From what I hear anything Lorenze makes holds up well.

Loftness is great. I've had one since 1995 and have had no problems. I would stay away from the cable shute rotating models and go with a gear/hydraulic motor rotating design like Loftness.

As stated in the previous reply, it needs to be wider than your tractor.

I bought a Lundell a few years ago. They are fairly cheap to buy. They have a bad rap because they need alot of power. A JD4430 is the smallest I'd put it on. The upside is they blow what will plug any other blower I've seen. Wet melting snow is no problem.

Around this area Pronovost is considered to be the premier blower. They're heavy, well designed, and well built.
Blowers do seem to be a shorter line type of equipment, even today.... so they have mroe local brands with localised followings.
Lucknow is a lighter blower that I also like. They probably don't have the life in them that a Pronovost will, but they still do a good job of blowing snow on a limited amount of power.

Personally, I have an ancient McKee SnoLander, and a larger Allied. I don't keep the 40 year old McKee going because it was poor.....The Allied is crap in my opinion. It needs an entirely redesigned blower fan because this one simply won't blow more than 10 feet, and it takes a pile of power to do that. Look for something with a good cup (concave) type blower paddle. That will hold and throw snow. The Allied has a convex blade and wants to force snow out the back before it goes out the top....

For what it's worth, Pronovost builds a lot of machines; many going into industrial applications. Downside is the expense.....
