300 International

Is there anyone that can tell me where I can get two coupling beams for my 300 Utility International... And I'll need a adjustable top link also. Most of the stuff I have around here is set up for three point, but this utility 300 is set for the Fast- Hitch. The fast-hitch is great, but when you have three point stuff, it can be a pain.
Thanks for the help

Pastor Ray, try searching fast hitch ebay and there are lots of them there. One place I think is Roberts farm supply or equipment or something to that effect is the cheapest I have seen. 95 bucks for a set of prongs. The higher priced kits will have the top link bracket. Send me an email and I will send you a picture of one that you can make rather easy.

Hi..i just bought an IH 300 international utility, and cannot figure out the PTO lever that is supposed to turn the PTO shaft on and off. The PTO runs all the time, and I want to be able to shut it off, and turn it on when needed. Which direction on the lever is on and which is off? I think my shifter lever is slipping on the shaft and not moving the connections on the PTO housing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Gabe H

my 300 utility had the same problem
the lever goes through the housing and is keyed to the shaft. When I removed the housing and the lever from the tractor, removed the bolt at the end and drove the shaft out of the lever I found the keyway worn in the shaft. I peened it over so the key fit tight and re assembled it. This oriented the shaft and lever to their proper position then I drilled through the lever at the center of the shaft and installed a roll pin. Presto... no more problem

There are two bands which the lever controls. You pull up the lever to engage the pto you are actually engaging (tightening) the "operating" band. Lifting the lever is also simultaneously releasing (loosening) the "anti creep" band.Push the lever down to stop the pto and you are tightening the "anti creep" and simultaneously loosening the "operating" band. These bands must be adjusted properly or they will drag or slip when they are not supposed to. This could cause the pto to run all the time or not at all. This could burn them out too.($$$$) If you need the adjustment procedure let me know and I'll send it.

Mike...thanks for this very useful reply to my question about the IH 300 PTO controls. If you do have information on how to adjust the PTO control bands, that would be great. Also, can you recommend a manual for the IH 300 that covers its operation and the kind of info you mentioned regarding PTO adjustments. Thanks again. Gabe H
