what is the max bore on a 301 engine ? and what pistons can I use? I think i am going to use the silver diamond head. thanks for any info and help.

I have 60 over in my 806 gas. I got the pistons from Tisco about 20 years ago, not sure if you can still get them.

most people are boring the block and running without a sleeve at 3.900 bore.using what i think is a ford 4000 piston.

Im freshinig up a 301 thats 4.040 on the bore but im not so sure the bores havent been offset a little. two winters ago i built a small engine for a 560. 3 7/8 pistons for a 283 chevy in a 263 block, stock rods and crank, murphys rocker arms, with the truck head. It runs realy good at around 3500 rpm. And out side of making wrist pin bushings it was a bolt together deal. We did have to use a diesel flywheel and starter to get it to crank over. .060 over 283 pistons comes out to 3.935 I would think that would work good.
