3020 Fuel Gauge

I can"t get my 3020D fuel gauge to read. I have changed out fuel sending unit twice,ran a new wire, grounded sending unit and with key on grounded out the the wire from gauge. It goes from empty to full when I do that. Any help is appreciated.

It still might be your sending unit. Jerry at Evergreen Restoration said Deere used two different resistance ranges in gauge/sending unit combinations and the sending unit must match the gauge. On your sending unit measure the resistance at the full & empty position (ohms). Give him a call: 715-635-8629.

Your dealer could be giving you the wrong gauge, there was a lot of confusion a few years ago with the part#'s Solution # 23307 Deere parts bulletin published 1/14/03 tried to straighten it out. use the RE 53664 gauge and the AR 26434 sender for 12 volt negative ground systems . Use the RE 54427 gauge and the AR26434 sender for Positive ground systems. I fried a hat full of gauges till I got it sorted out back then,,Darn it ....

So what polarity do you have? are you dealing with a late model 12 volt or a 24 volt, or a 24/12 volt conversion? I know this can be confusing at times, but the positive or negative ground is the controlling issue with the fuel gauge.

24v pos ground, I believe its a 1967

If it's still 24 volt it is a positive ground.

Have you guys solved this issue? I have an identical problem with a 3020 w/ 24 to 12 volt neg ground conversion.

Gauge sense input wants 200 ohms to ground to show empty,
0 ohms to ground to show full.

Sending unit appears to be 0 to 30 ohms.

Connections are solid.

This gauge and sending unit seems to be the only negative ground choice for replacement parts from Deere! Help!

Try R26468... it goes from 200-0
and I think it would work either +/- ground

what part # do you have that goes from 30-0?
is it AR26434?
