I have a 1964 3020 Diesel with PowerShift. It will not release from Park unless I manually press down on the levers to move the cable.
With the cable removed, the park arm on the side of the transmission will snap back into "released" position after I move the arm over center. I installed a new push-pull cable. I also cleaned and lubed the shaft where the control arms (this tractor has two) ride. After moving the shift lever from Park to Neutral, the cable does not move to release the park pawl. I can press down on the arms with my hand to move the cable and release the park pawl.
I plan to add a helper spring on the arms connected to the shift lever. Any other ideas?
