3020 syncro hydraulic change

[3020 JD 15]

I changed the oil today and cleaned the screen and the screen had one piece of metal shaving. After I took the screen out, and I stuck my finger in the hole and swipe up some fine shavings and a few bigger pieces. Is this bad or am I ok. Thanks!

There's always a LITTLE metal down there, how much is normal is kinda subjective!

Thats what the screen is for.You are always going to have metal from brakes and other trash in transmission.People think when they metal it is always trouble.If oils and filters were changed like they are recommended you would not find so much trash is screen.It never checked until hydraulics are slow or jerky.Which sometimes is years.

I changed seals on lower 3 pt shaft on JD 3020(drained hyd oil) and found some shavings also (about 10 years ago) but no problems with it yet (changed oil filter also and added new Hygard oil). Sounds like a problem but has not affected hydraulics yet.
