336 Case in a U

Is it possible to put a 336 case (from a later model tractor) in moline U? what is required? will the frame rails from a U bolt on to the new case? how about clutch, starter and flywheel.

Is this a lot of work to do? I know where i can get a sweet runing engine and do not want to swap engine internals to the U at this time unless it is way too much work to make the 336 case work.

This sounds absurd to me , I,m not aware if A "U" even has any frame rails ... correct me Guy's and send me more INFO on rebuilding my 335 ... THANKYOU .... ALAN B .

U's have side rails similar to the ones on the 602's. Take a look at your 602s and you'll know what they mean by side rails. It's the iron plates/bars/rails that bolt the front bolster to the engine.

As for the 335, if I recall correctly, the engine on yours is stuck. Better start by pulling it down and seeing what condition the parts are in. The engine is just like the 445/Jet Star I bought from you a couple years back.
