3545 value?

looking for a tractor around 120-140 hp. There is an 87 3545 mf on an auction near me. Looks very nice, mfwd, no loader. I cant seem to find anything close to compare it to on the usual sites. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what it should bring on what looks to be a very nice auction? Also..with so few out there, am i looking at having parts availability problems? Thanks. How are the hours, rubber and appearance?

Around here the dealers are asking US$15,000 to 30,000 for them. So they are probably going 10k to 20k at auction.

i was on tractorhouse earlier..didnt find anything within 300 mi that compared.3200 hours btw..paint good, rubber at least 50 %

I worked for a Massey dealer when these tractors were introduced. The only problem I remember was the PTO drive shaft seal leaking at the flywheel because of being cut upon assembly. That was fixed with a re-worked shaft and was only an issue on very early production models, so if hydraulic oil isn't running out of the clutch housing there is nothing to worry about. From the picture, that one looks cherry. I always liked them and thought they were an excellent tractor. They were also the first Massey row crop tractor with electronic 3 pt hitch controls. I would check to make sure the links go up and down OK just in case. The 354 Perkins engine is tried and true and I don't remember the transmission giving any problems. These first 3000 series tractor were a relief after the nightmare 2000 series with the 24 speed transmissions that they replaced. They came out in 1984, so if this is a 1987 model it is one of the last built. I would say $20,000 to $25,000 would be a good range.

The tractor pictured is older than an '87. Late model 3545's had a 2 door cab.
