39 DC help

I have been searching for pictures to find the correct seat and base for my DC. Also the dash is different than what I am finding. Did Case use different dashes on the DC series? Here is a pic of what I have. Anyone have picture of a 39 with original seat and dash. If this is the correct dash, what are the chances of finding the panel for underside of it? it looks like it had another panel fastened to 2 strips on the sides. Thank you for any input.

The dash is correct. As to finding the bottom panel, I have no idea; but a good sheet metal shop should be able to make one. Pictures are in the parts book.
The seat spring is incorrect; I may have one. I can check and get back to you.

Thank you. I figured the seat was wrong because you can see where someone heated the bracket and bent it to get more height out of it.

These are the only pictures i could find of a correct seat. Sorry they are not the closest pictures. First is my dad and i's 40 dc-4. Second is a 39 DC i saw in boonville, missouri. It looks like its possible that the seat strap on yours right now might be one of the 2 original ones, only heated and bent like you said. As for the dash like tom said it is the correct one. As for the bottom piece of that dash, it seems like every early Dc i've seen with the style of dash has had that bottom piece missing.

as others said, seat spring not correct, it should be a kind of like a square Z, steering wheel should be a 2-spoke and fixture above above dash is nothing I have seen on a 39-40, possibly a grease gun holder? I have the underside for the dash, if you were close I'd let you use it for a pattern.

The fixture above the dash is for the amperes gauge when they were equipped with a starter and lights.

That is a great picture. Thank you. Do you know what the knobs or switches are on the dash. Mine are missing. The tractor has starter and generator, but wiring was a cut up mess, and lights are not on it. Also, on the right of the steering column there is a slot for something that is missing also. I opinion is you might find anything on 39 as case just used up CC parts and what they made for early DC. I had lower panel made for mine and as I recall had another made at same time. Later this winter will be moving toys into new shed and if I find second panel would sell it. Keep my email or contact me as it will depend on health and weather on when it's available

Top left knob marked "C" is the choke cable. Bottom left knob marked "L" is the light switch. and the right knob marked "S" is the starter cable. The early DC's used a pull cable to engage the starter.

Zach, I think someone has put a seat spring off a mower or dump rake on his tractor. I'll probably be able to supply him the correct one.

I learned something. I have two 39's a 40 and another instrument panel and none of them had the bracket for the ammeter.

How many seat pictures do you want? I took a bunch a few years ago when I had to build a replacement seat for a 40 DC. Sorry, I don't remember the size of steel that I used to build it.

It looks to me like the throttle lever and rods are missing; on the 39 D series it was on the right side of the steering column, probably where your slot is located. I just bought a 39 D and once I get it home, I'll see what parts I need off my junker and would be willing to let you have any extras.

Here are some pictures of column and dash. Throttle looks factory but not sure if its right for year. The slot to right of column is what has me guessing.

That is the right throttle set up. As for the slot, i'm not positive, but i would guess its for the shutter control. In the parts book it looks like the 39 and very early 40 D series used a cable to control the shutters. However the pictures and description in the parts book are not real clear. Hopefully someone else will chime in with a for sure answer.
