just asking a question, the 39 john deere L HAS A HICK UP when running that blows blue smoke not all the time, is fires many times before it does this, this sound like a hanging valve

I had this with my LA. White puff every few times but not all the time. Like a little hiccup or skip. Turned out I had an exhaust valve that was a bit burnt because it needed to be at least ground. I ended up having a complete valve job done while it was apart, or so I hope. Timing could be a bit off too.
