3910 info

I am looking at a 3910. Tell me how you rate these tractors. Are they as reliable as a 4600.

Yeah...
They're basically the same tractor except the 3910 will have the light front axle (2WD), a 192 engine (42 PTO HP) rather than the 201 and revised transmission output ratios to compensate for the smaller rear wheels.
It's the same basic design as the 4600 except that putrid front axle. Don't put a loader on it.
The 10 will also have the 8x4 transmission option and CCLS remote valve options... though the one you're looking at may not be so equipped.

I have a 1984 3910 and love it.
X2 on what Rod said, DO NOT put a loader on it.
other than that I have not found anything it will not pull, push, move, etc...

I just bought a 3910 with a loader on it, I noticed I will have to add extra weight on the hitch (tires are loaded) just to plough my driveway. I took it for a drive and I was spinning trying to go up a slight hollow. I have since put chains on it,hope this helps.

You would be wise to add upwards of 1/2 a ton of weight to the back of that tractor. The setback front axle concentrates even more weight on the front axle and makes for an awful cantilever.
The good thing about a 3910 is that it CAN lift. There should be no problem slinging 1 ton on the back of it, so that should give ample weight to make it work.
