4-180 clutch

I'm having trouble with the clutch on a 4-180. It drags requireing me to stop the engine to shift gears or put it in and out of gear. works with the oil cold but not when warm. Last year I had it all apart for the same problem and installed all new parts set by the book including the center plate cams which I had the tool built to set. Checked all parts for true. Adjusting the free play in the pedal does not seem to change any thing. Am I missing somthing? Only 100 hrs on the clutch and related parts.

If the 4-180 has the same engine and clutch/pto setup as the 4-150,then the PTO input drive shaft could be dragging inside the transmission input shaft, due to misallinement of the flywheel mounted PTO flange. The flange has a bolt pattern that is slightly staggered, but still allows all bolts to go in causing the pto shaft to run out of center.I know this cauze it happened to me once.

I should clarify my other reply about pto flange bolt pattern.

normally the pto drive flange should fit in one position only, but it can be installed in a second [wrong] position too,{1 bolt will go in slightly tighter]causing the out of center misallinement of entire pto shaft in relation to transmission input shaft.

the reason for that to happen was that i pulled the engine forwards just far enough to facilitate the R&R the clutch.
