Thanks.
What would happen if it is defective?
Is it needed to keep the fuel pressure at 40 psi?
The fuel filter is attached to the bottom of the fuel pumpIf it has wires attached it is a fuel pump, if not then a filter.![]()
Agree, Where is the fuel pressure regulator and where is the evap can?I am sure that you have saw a plastic gas can swell up when hot.
The check valve prevents the tank from building excessive pressure. The gases (fumes) are forced into the EVAP canister. Over filling the fuel tank can lead to gasoline entering the EVAP system which is not good.
No. A bad check valve will not prevent fuel pressure loss. That could be caused by a few things. Bad fuel pump, bad fuel pressure regulator, bad fuel lines, bad fuel filter or a number of check valves.
What you are showing is the in tank screen. Not the fuel filter. And by the looks of that one. It looks as if some garbage snake oils have been added to the fuel..
As I told you in the last thread. Those engines do not like cheap fuel. I have saw more problems by the use of cheap fuel in those machines than any other.

As long as it runs no new pump. The DFI light came on again. I blew out the fuel filter. It didn't appear to be blocked.
Fuel pressure Regulator is inside of the canister that holds the pump.. Circled in photo below.Agree, Where is the fuel pressure regulator and where is the evap can?

I see that is different than mine. The fuel filter is attached to the bottom of the fuel pump View attachment 129070
I think I have fuel pump issues. The screen filter on the pump is the only thing I can find. I made a special screen filter so all the gas that goes into the tank is clean. I'm not going to do anything until it stops running.Thinking that you have the CA spec mule. If so the fuel filter is in the tank.
If not. The Fuel filter looks like the attached photo. It will be near where the fuel line exits the fuel tank.
>>>>>.. If you have the CA spec.. A new fuel pump assembly that includes everything that comes out of the tank when you pull the pump can be gotten for around $50.00 or less on the web.. CA spec mule uses the same pump that is used on the Tyrex.
Thanks for your help.
