4010 or 4020 jd diesel puller

thinking about building a 4010 or 20 puller just wondering what i can do besides a turbo to get hp and how much power i can get without spending a ton i would be pulling in 10,000 and 12,000 farm

i know a guy who has a 4020 and it dynos 155hp with no turbo. not sure Whats done. not much smoke either.

Turbo and correct pump work usually are the cheapest place to start.Pulling is not cheap but should be fun also.It started out as just people getting together for a good time at local events but has grown into a business where the most money wins.I liked it before but the tractors of today put on a good show.

Mine has SOME pump work, with fuel screw & M & W turbo. Runs about 200 hp. Run in 7500 - 10,000 farm classes.

Build a gas engine. Leave the diesel back on the farm.

Depends on what your rules allow. You could bolt in a 466. Or the 404 out of a 4430 and i think a 7710 combine has the same engine. I know them 4430s could get close or over 200 with nothing more than the pump turned up.

I know a guy who pulls a 4430 which will make 245 Hp, with only the pump turned up. Stock motor.
