4010 vs. 4020

Just curious, how does the price of a "top dollar" 4010 compare to a "top dollar" 4020?

The 4020 high dollar tractor would be worth a lot more in my opinion.

See 4010's advertised as high as 8500 and 4020's (presumably side consoles) advertised for over 16000 in the area. Don't know if the sellers are getting 100% of their asking prices.
The start of auction season around here would suggest alot of things are still bringing top money.

If you compare like condition, the 4020 is worth about 80 percent more, less birthdays and a much better tractor..

4010's are about 90-95% of a 4020 in usability, but typically bring anywhere from 55-65% as a 4020. Of course, they are older & probably have quite a few more hours.

The big differences for use are the PTO and the remote connections. Both were changed. The 4020 PTO is hard to break, the 4010 PTO is hard to not break. The early 4020 remote hose connection work better than the 4010. The late 4020 remote valve and hose connection arrangement works better yet and required the side console. The late 4020 remote valve style remained in use several decades in several generations of Deere tractors. The 4020 has more power than the 4010 and bigger axles, and many little details different. But if the PTO isn't a problem, both will do a day's work within their power and traction capabilities.
