4020 engine swap

What has to be done to use a 6600 non turbo combine engine?

Which 4020 chassis is being used? I hope it isn't a PS LP side console.

Is the engine from the 6600 a 329 of 404? If it"s a 329 don"t even try. And what is wrong with the engine that is already in the 4020?

I think the liners or block is broke. Burning the anti-freeze fast.

Guy from Indiana sells all the parts to do it. Calls himself "JUST JOHNS". Few tractor in my area that have had this type of swap. The 329 engine is better on fuel and starts better when cold. If you put the turbo engine from 7700 in they call that a poor mans 4320. Not sure all the work is worth it.404 parts are easy to find

Repair yours. You could get a combine engine that needs work.

Hire a good mechanic to atleast figure out where the anit-freeze is going. An engine rebuild is much better than throwing an unknown engine in your tractor. Again I would NEVER put a 329 in a 4020. A combine 404 is not that bad to put in if your engine is not rebuildable. The 329 has a history of block erosion (cavatation) and then puts the anti-freeze in the pan.

The anti-freeze is being burned. This engine has been having troubles for awhile.

IH solved their cavitation problem. It's called a coolant filter.
