40T allfuel value

I am looking at buying a 40T allfuel that has good sheetmetal and all the allfuel parts fair tires good lift the tractor has been painted,not a very good job,but other than missing the serial plate it is all there and runs good.The owner wants $3000.00 for it and I know that not many were made.Any idea what one is worth? It has a narrow front.Thanks For The Help!

I purchased a 1955 40S All Fuel (w/Serial # TAG) for less than half that. It came with a parts tractor too. However, the All Fuel engine is stuck.

In my opinion the All Fuel authenticity is worthless without the Serial Number TAG, so at best I wouldn't offer more than a standard 40T ($1800 - $2200), but if you could authenticate the tractor some way it probably is worth the $3000.

I wouldn't part with my 40S for that amount, even with a stuck engine.

If the tractor has the original engine block then DEERE could help you get a replacement tag. All restored with the proper replacement tag from DEERE, a 40T all fuel could be worth 8k-11k, depending on restoration and options.
