41 B pistons

Hi all, I have a 1941 all fuel B I"m restoring to use on the farm if I put late B/50 pistons & cam in it will I have overheating problems working ground or should I leave it low compression small bore? Thanks for your help. James

You shouldn't have any problems.

The shutters and control rods are missing dont know if thats going to be a problem or not. It's a steel tag tractor but the tag is rotted to bad to get a serial no. so it will never be a collector tractor, AGuru helped me id it as a 41-42-or very early 43, it does have electric start but has the wrong field coil case on the starter. I'm going to put it back to as original as I can but with a gas conversion, Is there enough material in the bore for the 4 11/16 pistons or did they change the casting for that also is there any benefit to running the straight gas carb? Contact Ray at "Extreme" pulling parts..
He can tell you exactly how far you can go...

I believe there is plenty for what you want to do..
DO check to be sure the Wrist-Pins are the same size..

You might check around, I think it is possible to get a replacement tag..
Get all the information you can about where and when the tractor was delivered and contact 2-Cylinder Magazine for a research on that..
Seems I have heard of tags being available...
You should get a set of shutters working (even though they do accumulate trash and make cleaning the radiator harder)..
Your JD will run better and not foul plugs nearly as often if you do...other-wise, it will usually not even move the water temp gage ( under 140^...).
