420 Crawler Dash color

Im working on restoring a john deere 420 crawler and was wondering which color to paint the dash. This is an ag crawler not industrial.Thank you for the help

I am not sure on the crawler but the row crop changed mid production run. I think if it is like the row crops you will need to post your serial number, or at least the first 4 numbers if you don't want to post it all.

the s/n is 133975,I didnt relize thats when they changed color.

The dash casting is the same color as the tractor, the dash insert (piece that holds the guages) was always painted a semi-gloss black. Dont know if there was ever a variation from that -- all of them Ive bought and fixed up have been that way (unless a repaint had been done and the black was always under the new color).

I dismantled a 420 crawler 3 weeks pass for parts and the dash is green

Here's several pictures of 420C's. Some show the dash pretty good.

I think the sheet metal insert that holds the gauges is painted black on mine, but it's not original paint.
