Looking at a list price guide for 4230 and will quote some of the list prices.Power Shift add $783 over syngro, triple remote add $361,Sound Quard cab $1355,heater $85,A/C $545,$18.4x38 tires add$100.75 4 rear wheel weights$135.Shows you what inflation has done to the used parts as 1 rear weight will bring that used and it costs around $1000 to add third valve.A reconditioned Sound-Quard cab would be around $5K. Options were a bargain even at list price. But 40 years ago gas was $.30.

It's been a long time since I sold new 30 series tractors but I don't remember AC/heater being an option.

Oh well there's some other things I don't remember either.

Back in the day I was a used tractor dealer and I can recall those tractors coming across the auction block maybe 5 or more years old AND THEY BROUGH DARN NEAR WHAT THEY SOLD FOR WHEN NEW.....

Back in the day my uncle ordered 2 NEW 4230 one with a cab,hyd.4x4 but no air. The other was just a 4 post roll guard. I remember going over the next weekend and the 4 poster was gone ? Here tractors were so hard to get back then he sold it for more then he paid !

I also remember we were looking for a small tractor in 1976. Not much used out there and this was right before the compact invasion. LOL
I remember looking at a left over JD830 3cyl. wish dad would of bought it. He ended up with an AC 5040 I never did like it. In 1982 ? traded it off on a JD750 compact and still have it. Now that's a tractor ! Small but mighty and reliable.

The New Gen I&II still bring near their original cost or more.Inflation has increased everything about 10X.A new Chevy Impala SS was $3K now about $30K.pack of gum was 3 for a $.10 now $.50 a pack.I know politics are a touchy subject BUT we now have an administration that wants to take our hard earned money and re-distribute it to people that are to lazy to work.I hope the number of leaders that are not corrupt out number the others and can continue to make it a great country.$ 17 trillion and building will continue to devaluate the $ that the world uses as a standard.Enough said as tractors are one of my favorite subjects ,not the political mess.

AC was an option but probably not in Texas.
You probably remember Deere had a list available to dealers where they could buy repoed machinery available at other dealerships.
Went to a sale in MS where a dealer consigned a 4230 from NY with no air. He never considered to ask if it had air.

I thought this site was not supposed to be used as a political forum. We can go anywhere else for that.

I have re-fitted 30 series with AC,,in the beging some old farmers thought AC was an UN-nessasry option... till they spent a few hot days in them....back then Eagle Air mad a kit to put in them

2 bachelor brothers near here bought a new 4430 back in the day and ran it with the door tied open with twine. Cost too much fuel to run the A/C they said.

D- Sorry I got off subject, but to 4010 puller the adjustable wide front was included in base of $10,307 and if you wanted dual Roll-O-Matic front deduct $204.25.Diff lock was standard equiptment.Tilt and telescoping steering wheel added $45.Only 90 low pro and 33 gases made.

One of my customers has a 4430 that never had a heater. Came from the south. He doesn't use it in the winter here in WI as he can't keep the windows from icing over.
