I have a Case 430 tractor with triple range transmission and a hand clutch. During the restoration I removed the hand clutch pack for inspection and noticed that the last two external clutch driver teeth were missing. The internal clutch drivers were severely warped and in need of replacement. I replaced the entire clutch pack with 6 internal drivers 5 external drivers and 5 spring separators. I have a service manual so I followed the installation procedure and reinstalled the clutch and bolted the tractor back to gather. I adjusted the clutch per instructions with a good over center snap. I start the tractor and test the hand clutch which no longer dogs in. I remove the triple range cover and inspect the clutch and notice that two of the driver’s one internal and one external have backed out of the clutch drum. I split the tractor three more times recheck the parts book and service manual to make sure the reassembly is correct. After each test the same thing happens some how the drivers back there way out of the drum. Each time I reassembled the clutch and adjusted I made sure that the drivers were working correctly and stayed in side the drum assembly. Dose anyone know why the drivers are backing out of the drum?
