Looking at a 440 JD to purchase and the brakes are bad. It doesnot look like it would be too big of job to replace them. Or maybe I dont know what I would be getting into. Need some advice. Thanks

I replaced the brakes on my 435 (435 is the ag version of the 440 wheeled tractor). Not a bad job. Had to remove the brake housings which included the remote hydraulics line if I remember right. The brake pads were about 80 dollars 3-4 years ago. Be sure you check how many splines there are on the brake shaft. There are 2 different ones that are available.

I have a 440 industrial with a loader, that needs a clutch. it has a five speed with the reverser. what kind of issues will I encounter with the reverser? any info is appreciated. thanks in advance.
