4400 combine value?

Hey all. Looking into buying a 79 4400 diesel combine from a neighbor. Been parked in the shed for 4 years. Comes with 443 hi tin and 213 flex. Both heads need some work. Combine has 2700 hours. Neighbor and a hired guy both said it's a pretty solid machine. What would something like that be worth? Located in PA. Thanks!

Around here where there are some small farms yet a very good 4400 with rotary screen would bring over 5,000 dollars for just the base. In today's market 6,000 dollars or more would not surprise me. Some might say you could find a 6600 or 6620 for that kind of money but the 4400 will fit into smaller sheds than its big brothers which is not a small consideration for some buyers. Parts may not be as widely available as the big brother JD's but at 2700 hours and well maintained the concern should not be a big one plus the parts yards still have 4400 combines.

It is worth more where you are located than anywhere else in the country. Here in the midwest it takes a sharp one to bring $2500 and your corn head is worth $1000 and a 213 flex can be bought for $500-750. Everyone here wants 6 row or bigger machines. Your area has a good many 4 row narrow farmers and a good demand for 4400-4420 machines. Tom
