4490 coolant problem

I have a4490;willwork all day;no overheating; When I stop and go to low idle;pukes about 4-8 L of ccoolant out.An ideas? Thanks in advance for any help;it will sure be appreciated.

Not to take anything away from Gene. When I have been working the snot out of mine, and stop for what ever reason I leave it idling close to 1500 for a several minutes to keep the coolant and air flow up. I did a major on it a couple years ago and found no liner lips cracked. Is your radiator pressure washed clean? HTH Tom

are you leaving a little "head space" in the radiator? If you fill it to the top it will puke a little out because it swells when hot and there is no remote reservoir to take up the expansion. And the engine temp will rise when you shut it down if its been working. you should have an inch or two of space below the fill tube.

My Dad's 1070 did the same thing a 2 years ago. You could work it hard, get out and after 30 seconds or so it would push coolant out the radiator overflow. The temp gauge would stay quite low, breathed heavy at the crankcase breather and it used oil. I changed the thermostats and all has been good. Check your radiator cap also.
