Does anyone know where I can buy a knotter for this baler part #495184 R6 I think in years later they changed the name which was R94 Knotter assembly

Probably a junk yard is you best bet. What's the problem with the one you have. A number of things have to be right with those knotters no matter where you find one.

Duane-

What is wrong with your knotter? Many people think the whole knotter is bad, when it may just need to be adjusted properly , or only 1 part is worn out. Any knotter from a IH 46,47,420,430,440 baler will work on your model 46 as long as it isn't the all twine knotter or Deering style like John deere and New holland use. On my knotters I have replaced the old style twine knife with the new style that has removable razor blades. Cuts twine much better. Also, bill hook cam gets worn and can get grease buildup. Also, check twine cord holder for wear. Check your states machinery salvage yards for the above listed balers. Let me know how it goes. I have 2 mccormick 46 balers and bale about 6000 bales per year. Mine knotters are working great, miss 2 or 3 bales in 1000, usually just on twine ball changes. Hope this helps.

For what you think is knotter problems in tying it could very well be in the plunger slides as when they get a slight bit worn they will not hold the plunger in the proper place for the needles to put the string where it needs to be. Found this out first with the New Holland 66 baler and then with the IHC 46 that followed and it has been gone for over 30 years now.

i had a 46 u also have to run the baler at rite rpm or it wont tie check your manuel before u change ur knotters make sure its adjusted rite
