hello everyone,i am going to install m&w pistons in my 46 gm.do i still install a486 head or is this a mistake, meaning to high of a compresion ratio. thanx

With a styled block and a 486 head with high compression pistons you will be running around 12 1/2 to 1. tractor will pull good at higher rpms but don't lug as well as a 9 to 1Call Jerry Hinrich who deals in pistons 815-778-1900 or 815-449-6580. he recomended that I take off [.325 th to lower it to 9 to 1 ?]Call him to make sure it's been a while.

The F-486-R and MW pistons is a good setup I got the same setup on an U/S "G" got a nice sound to it,and its hand crank one choke and one flip of flywheel and she rolls on to some pretty music Gman
