4610 Cab Heater

Trying to get hot water heater to work. Blower works fine. I removed both hoses at the engine and flushed with a garden hose and flushes fine.
Valves are open on the block and yet very, very little flow when checked at the hose end at the water pump conection. Engine was warm and thermostat is open and cycling thru rad. What gives? With this flow rate water will be cold before it hits the heater coil.

uses the thermostat to force water up to the cab area.. make sure you have a good operating thermostat or water will flow in the path of least resistance... which is the radiator.. the thermostat will partially close and that action forces the water through the heater core.. so get a premium thermostat that closes partially to fully, not just an open/close cheaper version.

yes, they make both types of thermostats..

I checked the New Holland's parts website and they list 4 different thermostats, 168,172,180,188
which do I go with? I assume they are the opening temps. It is a diesel.

Hi sotxbill, I was hoping you or RodInNS, or anyone for that matter could help me..yesterday my heater blower seemed to make it's last revolution in my 7710..off and on it's been studdering kinda like a bearing in the motor or something was failing. At times it would stop but with a little encouragement(a firm thump on the overhead console)would set things back in order..All that being said, in the event it can't be repaired, where would I buy one, or is the motor a more common part used in other brands..It's Winter, nuff said...thanks to ALL at Yesterdays Tractor Forum.
