OK, I need to brag. I bought this tractor for $550.00 everything was wrong. The guy had the wiring screwed, did not check with this board of Pro's, his loss my gain. Tractor came with a 5'grader box and a bush hog. Rewired the tractor with new 2 wire alternator, tuned up and had to purchase a new rr tie and tube $250.00. All in all have 1075.00 invested in tractor. I needed a sickle bar mower and was in no hurry and I found a John Deere 9W in a field and I paid the guy scrap price $60.00 and I rebuilt the mower for $175.00. By the way thanks Bob for the advice on the tilt head and getting it loose. I drilled into the yoke and sprayed blaster and let it bake in the sun and it came loose, with the help of a BFH (Dell) This is my first tractor and I could not have been successful with out the help of all you guys on this board, Dell, Bob, Soundguy and all of the rest of you. Thanks again.... Dont mean to toot my horn, these old tractors are very infectious and I am hooked. By the way the boat is for sale, wife is not happy but the tractor is way more fun than the boat.

Man, that's some contraption you got hanging on the back of that tractor. Never seen one before. Looks a little fragile though. I imagine it's for light duty stuff? Or am I off base here? What exactly where they made for? You just don't see things like that in my part of the country.

For $60 I couldn't have passed it up either. I'd have bought it just to tinker with and get running again, then find out if it would do me any good.

By the way, you bought the grader and the brush hog at a good price. The guy just threw in the tractor for good measure. Maybe he needed the space.

I paid $4k for an 8N with an M5 Brush Hog, a Gannon Rollover Box Blade and a Davis Loader on it. Tractors don't sell cheap in my part of the country. That was about 8 or 9 years ago. It's still ticking away like a fine watch and I've saved myself a lot more than $4k worth of work.

Don't let the wife see you having fun with that tractor. Some of them have these funny notions about husbands having fun without them.

Glad to hear I steered you in the right direction to loosen the cutterbar tilt adjustment!
