5 star deisel questions

will a 403 engine bolt in to this tractor ? or will gas blocks bolt on to the crankcase ?

No. Diesel blocks and heads. have more studs. Doubt 403 will bolt up. Different clutches and flywheels.

Gas blocks and heads will bolt to a diesel crankcase. You would need to configure a different governor arrangement since the diesel crankcase is not machined to mount one.

Just out of curiosity, is something wrong with the diesel engine or are you just wanting the extra cubic inches?

well thanks for the responds. i didn't think about the governor ! i might better go with a 336 gas crankcase probably be easier. i would like to get more cubes . my g done good for along time but there is not many pulling the heavier classes any more. i figured the 5 star could go lighter. it is just a parts tractor i got years ago . not sure what shape it is in for sure . thanks again

5 Star has different rear ratio. Supposed to be a good puller.

M5 gas has 336 ci, 5Star gas 283 ci .

i do have a couple 283 power plants for parts. one of them might work.
