500 Diesel Fuel Filter Change Question

What is the best way to change the 3rd stage filter on my 500 diesel? With holes in the bottom and top, can you get it full of fuel manually someway, or do you just turn the engine over after it is installed with the upper bleeder open to fill it. I&T manual doesn't really give enough info. I changed the 2nd and cleaned the first, but this 3rd looks a little challenging. Thanks for any help. Bob

Bob, after mounting the new filter and connecting the lines, you can fill it with Diesel fuel through the top bleeder screw hole by removing the screw. This will greatly speed things up for you. When you've done this, leave the screw out (or loose) and start the engine. Let it run and blow fuel out the bleeder, then tighten. ABSOLUTELY watch yourself around the fan,and dont' get fuel in your eyes. But this method works much better than trying to gravity bleed the third stage filter.
