Anyone still have a 503 in their shed? We have one that we have used every year for wheat harvest. Just don't see very many 403/503's anymore.

I have a 303 a 403 hydro and a 503. Have used the 303 and 403 to pick corn. Have only had the 503 2 years, I need to get some belts on it so I can use it.

Really no idea what the "c" would stand for. I could guess "corn". Our 503 is a windrow special and was used by a custom combine crew out of Oklahoma. I know IH had combines built for rowcrops. We combined corn with our 503 once and had to cobble up a drive system on the righthand side of the combine so we could run the cornhead.

I bought my 503 from the origial owner in '90 and he had just had it all gone thru by the local dealer, always been sheded and I use it every other yr for 50 acres of corn ,,use a 715 for beans. Mines got the big drive wheels on it and then I made a fold down hopper extension so it will hold 125 bushel of corn ,but still can get it in the shed.
