will JD 60 LP pistons work in an A block to gain extra horse power? I have a set of MW 125 pistons in it now,when at top dead center there is 5/8 of an inch to end of block left.Thank-You

60 lp pistons will work but you need to do alot of work to the top of the pistons leave about 9/16 of a inch and weld a set of rods if needed

You should gain some horsepower, but you'll have to use higher octane fuel. I have 7.5:1 compression in my 60/powerblock and don't have detonation with 93 octane, havn't tried 91 yet. I had some detonation with M&W AP126 pistons with 87 octane at about 6.5:1. I don't know what compression ratio the LP pistons will give you. Mike
